TaboretEgg Tempera Workshops

Are you interested in learning Egg Tempera? Would you like to host an egg tempera workshop at your facility? I am currently available for personal or group workshops on egg tempera painting. At my informative and practical workshop on egg tempera painting you learn the history, techniques, materials and more needed to get started.

Day One (9am-3pm)

The first day is structured so we can cover the following topics:

  • History of Egg Tempera Painting
  • Overview of Materials
  • Technical Considerations (classic approach, contemporary approach)
  • Overview of Important Artists
  • Demonstration of Techniques
  • Class/Student Participation
  • Online Resources and Books
  • Buying Supplies 
  • Further Class/Student Participation via Structured Exercises

Day Two (9am-3pm)

On day two the class/students will have the opportunity to apply everything from day one on an actual painting. Working from 9 am to 3 pm we will work on a painting starting with transferring a completed drawing to the panel, to applying the paint. Personal critique, direction and instruction will be provided for each student as needed.

Requirements

  • Each student should have some drawing background.
    Drawing is fundamental to egg tempera painting which is a a linear medium.

  • The student should not be allergic to dry pigments or eggs.
    We will be working directly with dry powdered pigments some of which are highly toxic if not handled correctly.

Cost

Individual Instruction: $300.00.
Two to three Students: $225.00 per student.
Four or more Students: $200.00 per student and the host organization is responsible for providing the facility/space to host the workshop.

Each student will receive:
  • One testing panel.
  • One final panel.
  • Eggs
  • Access to drawing materials, paper, brushes, pigments and other materials as needed.
  • A publication with all the material covered in the workshop.

Location

For one on one workshops they are generally held in my home studio. For larger classes the workshop can be held at the hosting educational facility or organization.
